Monthly Newsletter February 2012

Dear Friends,

The weather continues to be unseasonal. The fields are beginning to grow, the birds are singing the lambs are being born.Topsy turvy!!

This new month begins with the Feast of the Presentation a familiar story of Jesus in the Temple and the faithful waiting of simeon and Anna to see God.

I am preparing some young ones from the congregation for confirmation. The first task besides prayer is to get them to read the stories from the Bible. We need to know and  read scripture slowly and digest what the story might be saying to us.The Gospel of Mark is a good place to start. easily read in an hour of two.what is the main theme? how is the beginning different from the end?

Abigail, Amber, James and Sophie need you to pray for them now.they want to begin this journey of discovery to meet with Jesus to know and love him to serve and follow him to go on even when they have not got the answer.

I know that they will be a wonderful example of new christians within the congregation of St Thomas`.

They may have confidence to come and ask you about your journey of faith.

What are the pitfalls, what are the joys? when did you loose the way? when did you come back?  can you recommend a friend?

There are 6 adults  and we shall meet soon. hold all these in your prayers daily.Mark Samantha Teresa Daniel Racheal Lyanne
